Seminar: “IT Students in the AI Era – From Classroom to Enterprise Practice”

On January 29, Trà Vinh University organized a specialized seminar titled “IT Students in the AI Era – From Classroom to Enterprise Practice” to provide an academic forum for knowledge exchange, update students on the latest technology trends, and share practical experiences from enterprises.

Attending the program from the enterprise side were Mr. Trương Minh Tuấn, Director of the Information Technology Division, along with software project leaders and managers from 365 Ecosystem Joint Stock Company, including Mr. Nguyễn Trần Trọng Nhân, Mr. Cao Ka Ka, Mr. Lê Đặng Tuấn Anh, and Mr. Trần Văn Sĩ.

From Trà Vinh University, attendees included Dr. Võ Phước Hưng, Rector of the School of Engineering and Technology; Dr. Nguyễn Bảo Ân, Deputy Director of the Institute for Human Resource Development; Dr. Nguyễn Nhứt Lam, Director of the AI Center and Head of the Faculty of Information Technology; MSc. Nguyễn Bá Nhiệm; MSc. Lê Phong Dũ; Dr. Thạch Kọng Saoane, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Information Technology; along with numerous IT students from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts.

In his opening speech, Dr. Võ Phước Hưng emphasized that the seminar contributes to realizing the university’s educational philosophy of “practical learning – hands-on practice – adaptability – pioneering”, helping students transform classroom knowledge into practical thinking and solutions that meet enterprise needs, thereby bridging the gap between education and professional reality.

According to Dr. Võ Phước Hưng, academic problems in universities differ significantly from real-world business challenges, requiring students to acquire comprehensive knowledge, practical experience, and the ability to apply technology—especially artificial intelligence—as an effective support tool rather than relying on it completely. Through this seminar, the university hopes that students, particularly those about to start internships, will be well-prepared to confidently adapt and work in modern enterprise environments.

During the program, speakers from 365 Ecosystem JSC provided IT students with practical insights into the roles of programmers, team leaders, and project managers in a corporate environment. The content focused on explaining approaches to tackling problems or modules, emphasizing understanding requirements correctly, identifying objectives, target users, and success criteria, while highlighting proactive attitude, communication, and collaboration during work. Additionally, the speakers shared about project management roles in planning, resource coordination, progress monitoring, and risk management to ensure project efficiency. New trends such as Vibe Coding and Agentic AI were also introduced, demonstrating significant shifts in software development methods and labor market requirements in the AI era.

The Q&A session was lively, with active participation from students discussing practical issues such as labor market trends, essential skills, real-world work experience, and career orientation after graduation.

The insights shared by the speakers helped students orient their learning, develop practical skills, enhance applied thinking, and prepare the necessary foundation to adapt and thrive in today’s digital transformation context.
